Sea Turtle Hatcheries just outside Galle are also popular among tourists., These hatcheries give visitors a chance to learn about the conservation efforts, witness turtle eggs being incubated, and sometimes participate in releasing baby turtles into the sea.

Whale Watching in Mirissa also popular attraction in Galle between November and April, visitors can see blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins in the waters off the southern coast.

Another important landmark near Galle is  Sinharaja Forest Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a short drive from Galle. It’s one of the last remaining rainforests in Sri Lanka and offers excellent trekking opportunities with the chance to see a wide variety of flora, fauna, and endemic bird species.

Nuwara Eliya
