Beaches in down south of Sri Lanka

Unawatuna Beach
Located near Galle, Unawatuna is known for its crescent-shaped golden sand beach fringed by palm trees. It’s a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.

Mirissa Beach
This beach town is famous for its beautiful bay and is a hotspot for whale watching. Also a great place for surfing, sunbathing, and enjoying fresh seafood.

Hikkaduwa Beach
Situated south of Colombo, Hikkaduwa is known for its vibrant beach party scene, coral reefs, and excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities. Glass-bottom boat rides are also popular here.

Bentota Beach
Situated in the southwest coast, Bentota is known for its calm waters, making it ideal for swimming and water sports like jet skiing and windsurfing. The Bentota River nearby offers opportunities for impressive boat safaris and mangrove tours.

Tangalle Beach

Arugam Bay

Trincomalee Beaches
Trincomalee, on the northeast coast, boasts several beautiful beaches including Nilaveli and Uppuveli. These beaches are known for their powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Pigeon Island National Park, just off the coast, is a popular snorkeling spot.

Pasikudah Beach
Another gem on the east coast, Pasikudah is renowned for its shallow, crystal-clear waters and a wide stretch of golden sand. It’s perfect for swimming and water sports, and its calm bay is great for families.

Kalpitiya Beach
Kalpitiya is in the north east of Sri Lanka, 35km north of Puttalam and about three hours drive from the airport. Some attacrtions are visiting the Wilpattu Nature Reserve by boat, whale and dolphin watching and popular kite surfing

Negambo Beach
Negombo Beach is also a popular beach destinations in Sri Lanka, located just a short drive from Katunayake International airport. Negambo is ideal for sunbathing, leisurely walks, and various beach activities such as windsurfing, kite surfing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. Even you can visit nearby fishing villages and taste fresh seafood.
